The ICL is Anxious to Hire an English Team and Gain Recognition

He is simply waiting for the opportunity, cash and sponsorship to catch and sign one of the teams. Dev is also interested in teams from South Africa, West Indies and Australia.

Dev is the leader of the ICL, which is the breakaway rival of the Indian Premier League, and he made to public knowledge his desire of having a London or Birmingham team playing for the ICL. One of the British players that is particularly on his mind is pace man Steve Harmison. 

Harmison was knocked off by England at some stage in the recent series against New England and the likely hood of him receiving an additional contract from the England and Wales Cricket Board in September looks very doubtful at this time. However, Dev says he is more than welcome. 

At the present moment the ICL is in its second season subsequent to being established by the Indian broadcaster ZeeTV back in 2007. Dev was named India's cricketer of the century by Wisden back in 2002 and stated that he does not comprehend the lack of sympathy towards the ICL. Previously the ECB had initially broadcasted that it would prohibit from county cricket for a season any players who participated in the ICL but has ever since discarded such a pronouncement.

According to Dev, their players are required to primarily correspond and represent their country and then they will be eligible to play when they are free as they wished not to interfere with any countries cricket and their goal is to first and foremost provide publicity to young boys with those who have enough cricket so they can teach the rookies and give the audience amusing cricket matches.

When the ICL addressed the ECB if there is something wrong in them wanting to promote cricket around the world they responded with a letter thanking them and stating that they were being hypocrites. So for those who long wait for recognition the decision should be made known soon in this intense and difficult legal matter.
