8: The Denver's European connection

Denver airport is well-known for being an "hot'n'high" airfield, which has led to some technical problems for the operators, since the lift capacity of the airplanes is decreased. Airplanes either need to reduce their fare-paying payload -- and lose revenue -- or accelerate to a high speed -- which requires longer runways. In Denver's case, no runway was long enough for the heavy airplanes taking-off bound for Europe. The first idea the management found was to embed the lights located at the end of the runway into the ground to lengthen the existing runways (nearly 90ft gained). This has already diminished the technical restrictions, but a new 16,000ft runway is under construction and will be among the longest on earth for commercial use. DIA hopes that these first links to Europe will show the way to other carriers, notably Air France from Paris, to place the airport in the US' top airports and make Denver a more attractive place to make business. Deciding where to stay in Florida When you are heading to Orlando for a Florida family holiday, one of the most important things you will need to decide is where to stay. There are so many options for your Florida family holiday, you just may be overwhelmed. One of the options would be to stay at one of the theme park hotels, of which there are many. You would be closer, but there’s a lot of expense associated with that choice. You will want to save yourself some money for Orlando shopping or maybe a game of golf in Orlando, don’t you? How about something different — like an Orlando vacation home rental, an Orlando holiday villa or an Orlando holiday home. If you are really interested in splurging on your trip, maybe a nice get away with your spouse, you can always try something really nice, like a luxury Florida holiday villa.
